ClorisLeachman(bornApril30,1926)isanAmericanactressandcomedian.InacareerspanningoversevendecadesshehaswoneightPrimetimeEmmyAwards(recordtiedwithJuliaLouis-Dreyfus),oneDaytimeEmmyAwardandoneAcademyAwardforherroleinTheLastPictureShow(1971).

AsMissIllinois,Leachmancompetedinthe20thMissAmericapageantandplacedintheTop16in1946.Leachman'slongest-runningrolewasthenosy,cunning,self-centered,andmanipulativelandladyPhyllisLindstromontheCBSsitcomTheMaryTylerMooreShow,anditssubsequentspin-offseries,Phyllis,inthe1970s.

ShealsoappearedinthreeMelBrooksfilms,includingYoungFrankenstein(1974),starredasBeverlyAnnStickleontheNBCsitcomTheFactsofLifefrom1986–88,andappearedasDaisyMayMosesinTheBeverlyHillbillies(1993).

Inthe2000s,LeachmanhadarecurringroleasGrandmaIdaontheFoxsitcomMalcolmintheMiddle,andappearedasaroasterintheComedyCentralRoastofBOBSagetin2008.ShewasacontestantontheseventhseasonoftheABCrealitycompetitionseriesDancingwiththeStarsin2008,pairedwithCorkyBallas.Shewas82atthetimeandistheoldestcontestanttohavedancedontheseries.[1]From2010to2014,shestarredasMawMawontheFoxsitcomRaisingHope.ShecurrentlyplaystheroleofZoryaVechernyayaontheStarzdramaAmericanGods.
