Afterschool,hecollaboratedonanumberofprojectsofwriter/directorReneDaalder.Hewas"discovered"asanactoratthecornerofHollywoodandVineinLosAngelesbyaladywhohadabandonedhercarinthemiddleofthestreet,callingafterhim,"Weneedyouforamovie!".ThemoviewasSgt.Pepper'sLonelyHeartsClubBand(1978).TheturningpointinhisactingcareerhoweverwasEwoks:TheBattleforEndor(1985),aGeorgeLucasfilm.Inadditiontocinema,hehasalsoappearedonTV,notablyastherecurringcharacter,valetMr.Homn,onStarTrek:TheNextGeneration(1987).

Carelhasalsohelpedinhardwareandsoftwaredevelopmentofvirtualrealitysystems.
