AnnetMahendru,wasborntoanEastIndianfather(ajournalistandprofessor)andRussianmother(abusinesswomanandartist).AnnetspentherearlyyearslearningsixlanguageswhilelivinginAfghanistan,Russia,andEurope.SheputhercuriousmindtouseplayingcompetitivechessandearningabrownbeltinKarate,sweepingafreesparringchampionship.Atage11,AnnetchoreographedaperformancethatgainedheranappearanceonGermanTVasagracefulRussiansnowmaidenthatturnsintoaplayfulIndiandancer.Sadthatherparentsneversignedherupforballetclassesasalittlegirl,shejoinedalocalRock'n'Rolldancegroup,andlater,begantostudyclassicalIndiandance,Bharatanatyam.

AnnetfinishedhighschoolinNewYorkandreceivedaBachelorofArtsinEnglishatSt.John'sUniversity.Afterschool,drawnbyherpassionforacting,shetookclassesattheHBstudio,performedinplays,andIndiefilms.ButitwasinthecourseofpursuingaMaster'sdegreeinGlobalAffairsatNYUthatAnnetreachedacrossroadinherlife.ShedecidedtodropoutofNYUandescapedtotheWestCoastinsearchforyetanotherdegreethatwouldenablehertoaffectthekindofchangeshereallywishedfor.ThisonewasinStorytelling.AlwaysbeingabigfanofImprovisation,shebeganstudiesattheGroundlingsSchoolandtookonseveralcomedyprojectsthereafter.AnnethasalsostudiedattheImaginedLifeinHollywoodbecauseshefindstransformativeexperienceandexpressionoftheempatheticimaginationtobethefoundationofherwork.

Everything,fromgrowingupamongabigIndianfamilyonahealthydietofBollywoodfilmstoexperiencingSt.Petersburg'sfamousballet,artandtheatrescene,preparedAnnetforherlifeasanambassadorofchangethroughstorytelling.Becominganactresssynthesizedhermanycuriositieswithherpassionandmission.
